Shakil Huq's collection is an unusual private archive of empty toothpaste packaging from around the world. Started in 2012 after the graphic design of a single toothpaste box caught his attention, the collection rapidly grew to more than 400 packets from over 40 countries, with a particular interest in Asian packaging and examples using local languages and distinctive artwork. Huq also collected vintage toothpaste advertising and promotional material, extending the collection into a broader record of oral-care branding and packaging design.
