Le Pipe dello Sciamano is Spillo's private collection of more than 1,000 objects related to pipes and smoking culture. Started in Rome in 1982 with a pipe purchased from a stall in Piazza Navona, the collection has grown over four decades to include antique and decorative pipes, calumets, hookahs, chilums and a wide range of related objects and material. The collection is maintained as a personal record of the history, craftsmanship and cultural significance associated with these objects.
