Elvis Velez's collection is a large private archive devoted to the small adhesive labels applied to bananas for identification and branding. Started in Guayaquil in 1999, the collection grew to more than 12,000 different labels from producers and distributors around the world, together with thousands of duplicates used for exchange with other collectors. Taken together, the labels form a compact record of agricultural branding, packaging graphics and international fruit distribution.
