Alan Chandler's Petroliana Collection is an extensive private collection devoted to the material and advertising history of petrol stations and motoring. Built since the early 2000s, it encompasses more than 1,500 petrol pumps, globes, enamel advertising signs, oil cans, air pumps, lightboxes, oil cabinets, pourers and other examples of petroliana and automobilia. The collection has a particularly strong emphasis on British material and documents the design, branding and equipment associated with the development of roadside fuel distribution during the twentieth century.
